Card of the Day
KÙN (hexagram 47)
WILD CHERRY BARK
Ponder this ...
• What changes are becoming starkly clear that need to be made ?
• How can I shift from a life-negative to a life-affirmative mindset ?
• What needs to be done, let go, removed in order to move forward and grow ?
• Can I remember and believe that I have the strength and determination to do what is necessary ?
Trying to keep up appearances is a signal of decay on the inside. Beware shallow living—in yourself and in others. It is only in the depths that life can thrive. ~ Vironika Tugaleva
What emotions arise for you when you see or hear the words Death, Decay, Transformation ?
We may be feeling as if the weight of the world is bearing down so hard that we can’t or don’t want to get up and even try to keep going.
But perhaps we are being asked to take a step back and look at things differently. Perhaps we are engaging in unnecessary and ineffective struggle to maintain, to hold on to, creating an inflexibility to even consider the possibility of letting go, of getting rid of.
There is a starkness that is being brought to our consciousness and awareness that we can longer turn a blind eye to, a clarity that shows us the way forward only by clearing away some of the very things that we have convinced ourselves (and maybe even others) that we can’t be, can’t do, can’t live without.
It is time for us to reach deep down, deeper still, to find the strength and determination to do what is necessary, not just what is easy or convenient or safe.
Instead of saying Goodbye, let us say Fare Thee Well … recognising that a shift in the winds of change and parting of ways (whether with people, places, situations or things) is in the best and highest interest of everyone involved … and that the clinging, the desperate holding on to, is suffocating and strangling the very life out of what once was and can no longer be. This can be the root of feeling cut off, confined, being punished for something.
The depths of depression are calling for action, whether it is reaching out for professional help to find the way through a dark period, or cutting off, letting go, leaving behind those things that are at the root of the depression.
We are being asked to recognise how and where we have adopted a life-negative mindset that can cause us to act, accept or settle for things that are not right or good for us.
Instead, let’s work on how we can transform that mindset into one that is life-affirmative, ready to see what else there is, what other possibilities may exist, what other futures and paths may await once we step out of and away from the present we’re (over)indulging.
