Card of the Day
IX The HERMIT
Ponder this ...
• What treasures of insight does playing in my inner landscape reveal ?
• Can I set logic aside and go inward to intuitively feel and trust what my next step is ?
• Am I paying attention to what's being shown to me ?
• Am I escaping or retreating ?
I just want to sit still for years on end, really, charting that inner landscape because I think anybody who travels knows that you’re not really doing so in order to move around—you’re traveling in order to be moved. And really what you’re seeing is not just the Grand Canyon or the Great Wall but some moods or intimations or places inside yourself that you never ordinarily see when you’re sleepwalking through your daily life. ~ Krista Tippett
The inner landscapes of our fantasies and imagination are rich and luxurious and call to us to lose ourselves in them.
It’s important for us to make the choice of whether these will be an escape that causes us to shut off or shut down from reality and not deal with or interact with situations and interactions in a healthy, constructive, way … or if this inner landscape is a retreat we can step back into in order to not become reactive due to feeling overwhelmed, to process, ponder, consider, envision alternative realities that can lead to productive different perspectives and approaches to things.
We are pondering our next steps, knowing deep within that a chapter is closing and setting the stage for where the story of our life goes next.
Use imagination and introspection to really connect with what feels right, to consider and play out scenarios that, on the surface, may seem outlandish or ridiculous to consider, but when given the safe space of the world in our mind and mind’s eye, can reveal crystalline nuggets of potential, possibility and direction that might not have otherwise been conceived or believed when trying to merely see them through trying to merely make sense of things in a logical, rational way.
Something or someone illuminates the next step in our journey in some way. Let’s be aware, receptive and willing to see it for what it is, a next step, and then take it to see where it leads, what it opens up, what next step after that it offers.
