Astrology of the Week 11 ~ 17 May 2026

Astrology of the

Week

11 ~ 17 May 2026

This week is focused on the practical, the personal, and the long overdue. Choose confidently but stay open to change. This is where we decide. For the third time this month, life is asking us to get serious about what we think, what we say, and what we’re willing to stand behind. We’re asked to slow down, get clear, and make decisions that actually support our life. Then, just when we think we’ve got it all figured out, we’re shown something new that requires us to adapt. So, decide what matters. Stand behind it. And stay open enough to evolve when the situation changes. This week is not about always being right. It’s about being grounded enough to commit and flexible enough to change.

Mars is conjunct both Eris (Tuesday) and Chiron (Thursday). We can expect that controversies will be aggravated and that yet another layer of uncomfortable truths and unhealed wounds will be revealed. We can no longer ignore the traumas that have been and continue to be inflicted by the unevolved, unconscious ego. People are likely to be moody, emotional, reactive, and defensive. We may feel upset and angry at times this week. However, we benefit from remembering that the first and necessary step of any healing process is to uncover the wound. We may also see individuals courageously come forward to advocate for themselves or for others.

On Wednesday, Mercury sextile Jupiter opens a window for conversations and ideas we’ve been sitting on to finally get some air.

On Thursday, the Sun conjunct Mercury sharpens everything : words, instincts, our ability to see a situation for what it actually is rather than what we’ve been hoping it might be.

On Saturday, the New Moon in Taurus offers the kind of reset that doesn’t ask us to burn anything down — just to get honest about what we’re actually building and whether it still deserves our energy.

On Sunday, Mercury shifts into Gemini and immediately conjuncts Uranus. Steady, grounded thinking gets challenged, disrupted, and possibly rewritten.

MARS CONJUNCT ERIS (Tuesday)

Mars conjunct Eris: The courage of our convictions enables us to take risks today, or to strongly advocate for a person or a cause. Controversies are triggered and angry protests could erupt under this influence.

MERCURY SEXTILE JUPITER (Tuesday)

We are better able to communicate and to calmly express our emotions.

MERCURY SEXTILE JUPITER (Wednesday)
Emotional intelligence meeting practical thinking. Focus on decisions that benefit our life overall, not just our ego. We are better able to think clearly and act responsibly, make use of it. Something finally makes sense. Conversations land. Advice feels useful instead of shallow. We may say something that actually helps someone instead of just sounding impressive. Give advice only if it’s something we’ve actually lived, not something we Googled. Write down priorities for the next month and make sure they actually reflect our life.

SUN CONJUNCT MERCURY (Thursday)

Communications and travel are highlighted. Mental focus condenses. Mind and identity come together helping us gain a clear and grounded sense of awareness. The alignment of our thoughts and our true selves starts to create a beautiful synergy. Thinking aligns with attention rather than running ahead of it. Thoughts feel solid. Opinions feel justified. Understanding transforms into something tangible, straightforward, and consistent. Ideas that have felt scattered may consolidate into something usable.

Our minds may dwell on practical matters or on concerns regarding the home and family. There may be news involving physical resources or financial matters. Clarity is powerful, but rigidity is a trap. Patience for nonsense drops significantly. We know what we think, and we’re not interested in debating it with people who clearly haven’t done the work. If someone disagrees with you, listen long enough to understand, not just to respond. We are better able to define our values, just don’t be overly attached to being right; commit to decisions that matter while also leaving room for reality to update us later.

SUN CONJUNCT ALGOL (Friday ~ Sunday)

The Algol Gateway embodies the strength we gain after navigating the journey of transformation and renewal. This is about discovering our inner strength and power, regardless of the transformations that come our way.

MARS CONJUNCT CHIRON (Saturday)

We might become aware of fears that are undermining our self-confidence or have impacted the well-being of others. Something hits a nerve. We can feel disrespected, blocked, overlooked, or challenged. Reactions are immediate, not subtle. People either step into their power or regress into their worst habits. Pay attention to what triggers us; it points directly to where we still feel powerless or unsure of ourselves. Be proactive in self-care or in supporting others as needed.

NEW MOON IN TAURUS (Saturday)

A journey back to the essence, to the ground beneath us, to what truly nourishes and supports us. Unhurried, deliberate, grounded in sensation rather than idea. Build something stable, grounded, and sustainable. Fresh starts take their time to establish, inviting us to embrace patience and mindfulness. Make a commitment to stability, choosing long-term security over short-term emotional gratification. Beginnings likely register as small decisions : what to plant, what to hold steady, what the body can actually sustain.

New Moon in Taurus conjunct Mercury + Ceres

There may be news or communications regarding food sources, nutrition, the environment, and other tangibles that we rely upon.

New Moon in Taurus conjunct Uranus + Sedna

Surprising insights, unexpected events, or sudden awakenings are possible that initiate a process of liberation, transformation, and breakthroughs. We are breaking free from limiting mindsets, letting go of old stories, and learning to speak our truth. These energies of the Uranus-Sedna conjunction are building throughout this month, leading up to their exact alignment on 24 May.

New Moon in Taurus conjunct Algol

Intense, transformational energy, when suppressed emotions rise to the surface and some encounter their inner demons. We may see some people « losing their heads » or being incapacitated in some way. This can also energise feminine strength when faced with patriarchal oppression and the ability to rise above victimisation.

MERCURY CONJUNCT URANUS (Sunday)

Be open to intuitive insights and aha moments. Plans shift. Information drops. A burst of clarity, vibrant and charged. Fresh concepts emerge from unexpected realms, shaking up traditional mindsets. The script we thought we were following gets rewritten. This is a breakthrough, not chaos for the sake of chaos. This is an awakening, both to higher truths and to our greater spiritual purpose, a sneak peek into what is coming to light. We only benefit if we’re willing to think differently. Stay flexible. Decisions made earlier in the week were necessary, but they are not immune to new information.

MERCURY IN GEMINI (17 May ~ 01 June)

The pace of life is likely to feel faster during this period. The mind expands and accelerates, igniting a spark of curiosity. Ideas come out of nowhere. There’s an increased ability to strategise. Concepts start to flow, intertwine, and expand. Communication flows effortlessly, vibrant and brimming with potential. We are eager for social interactions. Nervous energy is heightened. Conversations take unexpected turns. Someone says something that completely changes our perspective, or we do. Don’t chase every new idea; pick the one that actually has potential and build on it. While we may be curious and eager for information, we could also be too mercurial when making decisions.
