History
Chiron in Taurus 1976 to 1984
High inflation, which escalated into the Farm Financial Crisis of the early 1980s. A rise in eating disorders like anorexia and bulimia. The need to heal our relationship with nature and the environment – Vietnam veterans with severe illnesses related to their exposure to the toxic herbicide Agent Orange; severe health issues experienced by residents of Love Canal, New York, due to the community being built on top of an abandoned chemical waste dump; the nuclear reactor meltdown at Three Mile Island. These resulted in grassroots movements and protests, new regulations regarding the disposal and cleanup of hazardous wastes, legal battles over environmental protections, and the rise of the anti-nuclear movement.
